It was too nice a day not to do something but with Mag still not a 100% after getting shingles in her face while returning from our latest adventure in France and Spain so we decided to take our breakfast to our favourite spot on the mouth of the River Deben:) The prom was too busy to bike on so we mainly stuck to the road, there were loads of open water swimmers out at The Fludgers with the sea a very balmy 10.2 degrees!
With the tide high having only just turned we had a few boats come past as we tucked into mable and pecan Danish. With Mag not up to a longer bike ride she headed home while I continued to The Ferry just in time to see the Harbour master set off on a trip up the river. A quick spin in the boat yard to take some pics before setting off on the river path to Kingsfleet where I stopped to chat with our birdwatching friend Roger who had his scope set-up looking down the fleet. There was not much about but he was hoping to stop the Bittern, it wasn't perfect weather with the sun a little hazy with a cool breeze.
I then carried on towards Falkenham church seeing a buzzard on the way. The church was as pretty as ever but I had missed the snowdrops so continued to Kirton. Then to Trimley through Felixstowe docks to the busy viewing Point where I stopped for a quick snack before heading for home. I did the prom towards our new beach front bingo hall better known as the new pier which is now well out of the ground with the roof being put on. It was very busy with people on the prom with several families on the beach, sadly I don't think I have ever seen so many obese people:(
This is my first real bike ride since January being out nearly 4 hours hopefully Mag will be fit enough to join me soon!
